What is email preview text?

Email preview text (or preheader) is the short text that appears after the subject line in many email clients and on mobile. It gives recipients more context before opening.

How long should email preview text be?

Around 40–90 characters is a practical guideline. Shorter preview text may result in email clients pulling filler text from the email body.
